Ben - Well shit, Smith is amusing as all hell. He’s now crushed the #2 ranked LHW and is on a three combat win streak when you consider that transferring up from MW (and a loss to Thiago Santos, who has also moved to LHW so....). To be practical, Jones/Gus 2 is for the number 1 contender spot so Smith will probable be an exchange for that even as being booked for any other combat. I think Blachowicz makes the maximum experience. Both are on win streaks and Jan need to be beforehand head anyway, but the UFC will not need to offer Jan the fight, so this makes the most sense for me.
